Sear me dismal city, sear me in your shroud
Faces disappear into the liquid crowd
Drown me mother progress, drown me in your flood
Faces pass by, we talk to God

Subsoil pedestrians call from below

It seems my pilgrimage has reached it's end

Burn me hollow city, burn me on my way
Pleasant stream of green in me it turns to grey

Oblivion's lust is our fate

This lonely town devours its people
A permanent hunger not to appease

A couple of flowers floats in the mud
Insignificant beauty in the flood
The flowers disappear in streams of grey
Everything changes, every day

A million wars we have to fight
Every day and every night
In happiness we love to burn
And some day I will not return
